Social Security Information:

For information on how to switch your Social Security direct deposit, including a list of frequently asked questions, please follow these steps:
  • Go to www.ssa.gov.
  • In the top-right corner, choose the "Checks and Payments" within the questions drop-down menu and click "Go".
  • Under Search by Category, select “Checks and Payments” and “Direct Deposit,” then click "Search"
  • Here you will find a list of questions and answers on how to change your Social Security direct deposit.

Ways to Change Social Security Direct Deposit:

  • Call Social Security at 1.800.772.1213 and follow the appropriate voice prompts. This is the fastest way to change your direct deposit information.

  • Social Security Website - Go to www.ssa.gov and select the question “How do I change my Direct Deposit,” then print the Direct Deposit Sign Up form. Section 3 of this form needs to be completed at your local branch before it is submitted to Social Security.

    Once the form is complete, MAIL or FAX it to your LOCAL Social Security office. To find the address and fax number for your local Social Security office, please go to www.ssa.gov. Use the left navigation link called “Find a Social Security Office” and enter your branch’s zip code.
