In 2023, Fulton Bank was recognized by American Bankers Association for the Military Internship program. The program, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, is a six-month internship that helps veterans transition from military service to the civilian workforce with on-the-job training in the financial services industry. Upon completion of the internship, the program provides job search support both within Fulton and throughout the banking industry. Since the program’s launch in 2019, Fulton Bank has worked with more than 168 veteran interns and hired 42 of them for full-time positions.
Pennsylvania Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) announced that Fulton Bank is a state finalist for the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.
The award is the highest recognition given by the Department of Defense to employers for their exceptional support of National Guard and Reserve members.
The Department of Defense will announce up to 15 employers selected to receive the 2024 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award by mid-June. Recipients will be honored in a ceremony at the Pentagon in August. State ESGR Chair Marty Kuhar said, “Fulton Bank cares about their military members! Most importantly, Fulton Bank demonstrates their strong support for citizen soldiers serving in the National Guard and Reserve forces.” Kuhar also noted that Fulton Bank actively seeks to hire members of the Guard and Reserve.
Fulton Bank received the ESGR Above and Beyond Award in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
The ESGR is a Department of Defense program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for Service members in the Reserve Components through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. The Above and Beyond Award honors employers who go above and beyond when employing veterans and military personnel. The Above and Beyond Award is an extension to the Sevens Seals Award that Fulton Bank received in 2019, which is the broadest and most inclusive award given by ESGR, awarded to employers that significantly advance the ESGR Mission.
